A Note from Kate
Happy New Year to all our members-may 2023 be a good year for you all.
I would like to thank everyone involved in making the December meeting such a fun one. Deborah for her reading, Lynda Guy for the line dancing, Linda McDowell for the quiz, Lindsey for the most amazing raffle, Carolyn for the mince pies, the committee for all the preparations, the choir for entertaining us and all the members who braved the extremely cold weather to attend and take part in the festivities. It really was a superb evening.
I look forward to seeing you all at our monthly meetings this year, there are some excellent speakers to look forward to and the programme team have been working hard on the programme for the next WI year.
As from August Lindsey has decided to retire from organising the monthly raffle after many years of presenting the prizes so beautifully. I would like to thank her for all her hard work.
Kate

Reminder-The bar at the Sports Club is card only.
Tea and Coffee-The committee have discussed improving the tea and coffee arrangements and feel the best way forward would be for members to buy them at the bar-£1.80 for tea with prices for coffee, from a machine, starting from £2.20. We will be trialling this for 3 months starting this month and will then weigh up the pros and the cons with members. We look forward to hearing your views about this.
Monthly Raffle-As Lindsey is stepping down from organising the raffle we are looking for a volunteer or volunteers to take over this role from August onwards. If it appeals to you please speak to one of the committee.
Trading Table-The trading table is available for the remainder of this WI year.
The Heatons Choir-The choir venue has changed to St. Martin’s church hall, Didsbury Road, and the time has changed to 10.30am-12.30pm. They meet on the first and third Saturday of the month. Please contact Karen for more details. New members are very welcome and no auditions are necessary.
