July 2021

A Note from Sue

The Committee will be holding an ad hoc meeting after the 19th July to discuss the arrangements for our August monthly meeting. We are meeting after the 19th July to make sure we know what circumstances we are dealing with! As soon as we have confirmed arrangements with The Sports Club, we will send an email and a member of the Committee will phone those members who don't have email access. If you have any comments or concerns, please contact me ASAP in order that any issues can be factored in to our Committee discussion

If you have had chance to read this month's WI Life you will see that we feature in it twice! Angela's photo from the virtual AM is featured on page 3 and Ginspiring Women are featured on page 35. We are building up quite a track record of being featured in the magazine and as many of you are aware, Lindsey featured in it after posting a photo after she attended a Denman at home baking session, and more recently, her wonderful garden was a main magazine feature. All of these articles help raise our profile, so well done to all concerned.

Finally, Cheshire Federation is holding a virtual fun show, no prizes, just the fun of taking part. Please consider joining in, as the more entries there are, the more to be had

With very best wishes,

Sue x

Competition-“Quote, Unquote” Our speaker this month is from Stockport's Garrick Theatre so the competition has a quotation theme. We are giving you the start to some well-known lines from stage and film, and would like you to finish the sentence off in YOUR OWN words - not the actual quote.

There are 4 quotes, and you can choose 1, 2, 3 or all 4. But PLEASE submit each on a separate post and only submit 1 entry per quote. So basically, make up a new ending to the quote, and post each one individually. Please post entries on Wednesday 14th. Voting will take place on Thursday 15th.

The quotes:

1. " If music be the food of love"...........

2. " Frankly My Dear" .............

3. "Mirror, Mirror on the wall" .........

4. “Life is like a box of chocolates".......

Have fun everyone!
