October 2022

A Note from Sue

Members of the Craft group and a number of other members are working incredibly hard making items for 2 fundraising activities. The first being the Trading table at this month’s meeting for our own funds, and in December, raising funds for sign post for Carers with the event being held at St. Paul’s Church. (You will find more details about this event in the November edition of the Newsletter).

Can I ask that you let friends and family know about November’s fundraiser as this will be a great opportunity to buy Christmas themed and other items, whilst supporting our nominated Charity?

With very best wishes

Sue x

Christmas Meal-There is still time to sign up for this. It is at the Wycliffe Hotel at 12.30pm on Wednesday 7th December. The cost is £32.00. Please bring £10 deposit in an envelope with your name on and hand it to Karen at the meeting.

New WhatsApp Group-Buy/Swap/Sell/Give-This group is for anything except pets or livestock. You can offer an item for sale, ask for a swap or give away your item for free. Please keep all comments on this group and do not direct message until necessary to arrange pick up. The usual system is that the goods go to the first person to comment. However this is ultimately up to the seller. You may wish to select a name at random after a given time to enable working members to have a chance. Please contact each other by private message-DO NOT put telephone, addresses etc. on the WhatsApp group. Admin and the committee accept no responsibility whatsoever for the quality or condition of goods offered. Remember one woman's trash is another's treasures. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Monthly Raffle-After much discussion at committee and discussion with members it has been decided that from the October meeting a raffle ticket will be £1. There will be three prizes each month. If you have good quality, new items which would be suitable for the raffle please hand them to Lindsey or a member of the committee.

Christmas Raffle-As you know Lindsey puts together fabulous hampers for the Christmas raffle. We are asking members for donations of food items, such as biscuits, chocolates, bottles, including non-alcoholic such as Belvoir cordials, and new good quality items, such as candles etc. These can be brought to the October and November meetings. As with Christmas raffles in the past each ticket will be £2. If you are unable to attend either meeting but would like to donate please contact a member of the committee and we will arrange for you to drop off. All committee members’ email addresses are in the handbook.
