About Us

The Women’s Institute (WI) was formed in 1915. It plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities, and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities. The WI is based on the ideals of fellowship, truth, tolerance and justice. The organisation is non-sectarian and non-party political. The Women's Institute is run on democratic lines and all members have a voice.

Our WI

We formed in June 2008. We meet on the third Thursday of each month at the Heatons Sports Club, on Green Lane. The doors open at 7.20pm for a 7.45pm start.

We currently have a waiting list but you are more than welcome to come along to a meeting

All WI members are entitled to

• Stand for election to our committee, where you can make decisions on behalf of the WI

• Attend Cheshire Federation events and North East Chesire Group events

• Participate in the WI at a national level

• Get involved in campaigning - or start your own campaign

• Fundraise for a cause, and propose a charity for our WI to support

All this for just £44.00 a year! If you'd like to join, simply come to a meeting and you can do it there or contact us at heatonswiinfo@gmail.com
